According to NDTV report, Konstas in an interview with Timple M Cricket said, "Oh, I didn't get too fazed. Unfortunately, Uzi got out. He was trying to buy some time a little bit. It was probably my fault, but it happens. It's cricket. Credit to Bumrah. He got the wicket, but obviously great performance from the team,”.

Bumrah, Konstas incident during Sydney Test

The incident occurred in the dying moments of day one of the Sydney Test as Khawaja took some time to face the last two deliveries. What Gautam Gambhir said on Konstas -Bumrah incident

Team India's head coach Gautam Gambhir opined that Konstas had no right to be involved when Bumrah was speaking to the umpire and Usman Khawaja over taking time.

He said, "It's a tough sport played by tough men. You can't be that soft. As simple as it can get. I don't think there was anything intimidating about it. He had no right to be talking to Jasprit Bumrah when Usman Khawaja was taking his time and no business to be involved with Jasprit Bumrah. It was the job of the umpire and the guy batting at the other end."

What's next for Sam Konstas?

Konstas is one of the batters allowed by Cricket Australia to play a few Big Bash League (BBL) games before heading to UAE for a preparatory camp. He will play under the leadership of Sydney Thunder captain David Warner.
