Sam Konstas has been talk of the town ever since his fearless knock in the first innings of the Melbourne Test. The opener scored 60 off just 65 balls and which included two boundaries and a six using reverse ramp shots against Jasprit Bumrah. The 19-year-old was shouldered by Virat Kohli which created quite a buzz.
This time Konstas has found himself in the middle of another interesting episode. Usman Khawaja, Konstas' opening partner shared a story on his official Instagram handle which showed the 19-year-old wearing sneakers during the Australian team's meeting with their Prime Minister. The video shows that all other players are wearing formal black shoes while Konstas is seen in Black sneakers with white strips on it.
Sam Konstas was handed his debut during the Boxing Day Test at MCG after some consistent performances in domestic cricket. The youngster is considered the next big thing in Australian cricket, and he would once again look to impress the selectors by playing special innings in the final Test at SCG against India.
Australia drop Mitchell Marsh for SCG Test
Ahead of the Sydney Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) against India, Australia on Thursday announced their playing eleven for the final match of the series. Currently, Australia lead 2-1 over India in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
According to ICC, Australia dropped a selection surprise by adding 31-year-old Beau Webster in the playing eleven, who will make his debut at the Sydney Test, while all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been dropped.
Webster will become the second debutant for Australia in the ongoing series after Sam Konstas' fiery performance in Melbourne. Webster is set to become the 469th Test player for Australia, and is the preferred sixth batter for the side.
