IPL 2025: Nitish Kumar Reddy Loses Cool, Slams Helmet In Anger After Losing Wicket Against LSG; Video

Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy had an emotional meltdown during the IPL 2025 match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Thursday, March 28.

In a video which has gone viral on social media in which Reddy can be seen returning to the pavilion following his dismissal visibly frustrated. In a moment of anger, he slammed his helmet onto the stairs.

The incident happened on the first ball of the 14th over bowled by Ravi Bishnoi. The leg spinner bowled a tossed-up delivery on the middle stump, which Nitish attempted to hit down the ground. However, he completely misread the googly, and the ball crashed into his middle stump. He made 32 runs off 28 balls, lacing his innings with two boundaries.

LSG Shut down SRH

In a dominant performance, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by five wickets, securing their first victory of the IPL 2025 season. Batting first SRH started Abhishek Sharma early, however Travis Head continued to attack LSG bowlers. However the openers innings came to an end for 47.

Nitish Reddy's departure soon after left SRH struggling. Heinrich Klaasen added a valuable 26 but was run out in a mix-up with Aniket Verma, and despite late cameos from Verma (26 off 13) and captain Pat Cummins (18 off 4), SRH could only manage 190/9 in their allotted 20 overs.

Shardul Thakur's superb bowling performance (4/34) laid the foundation for LSG's victory. Thakur claimed the crucial wickets of Abhishek Sharma (6), Ishan Kishan (0), Abhinav Manohar (2), and Mohammed Shami (1), putting SRH on the back foot.

Chasing a target of 191 runs in Hyderabad, LSG raced to 193/5 in just 16.1 overs. Nicholas Pooran played a blistering knock of 70 runs off 26 balls, smashing six fours and six sixes. Mitchell Marsh also contributed with a quick-fire 52 off 31 balls, including seven fours and two sixes.
