India missed a golden opportunity to dismiss Joe Root on Day 3 of the fourth Test at Old Trafford, as a misfield and a miscommunication let the former England captain off the hook. The dramatic moment occurred on the last ball of the 54th over of England’s innings, when Root attempted a risky single off Mohammed Siraj’s bowling.

After the ball bounced awkwardly off Root’s bat and rolled toward the gully region, Ravindra Jadeja sprinted in and fired a throw at the non-striker’s end. Root and his partner Ollie Pope were both stranded mid-pitch at the time. However, Jadeja's direct hit attempt missed the stumps, and there was no one backing up at the non-striker's end.

Debutant Anshul Kamboj, stationed at mid-on, had an easy chance to collect the ball and remove the bails had he been in position. Instead, the England pair completed the single, and the moment slipped away. Jadeja, visibly frustrated, was seen scolding Kamboj after the play.

The incident highlighted India’s sloppy fielding and lack of coordination, which cost them a crucial wicket at a key moment in the game.

IND Vs ENG, 4th Test: Harry Brook's Quick Dash To Slips Delights Crowd At Old Trafford; Video

During Day 1 of the fourth Test match between India and England at Old Trafford, a small but spirited moment from Harry Brook stood out amid the tension of the contest. The young English cricketer was seen sprinting to his position in the slip cordon between overs, a burst of energy that captured the attention of both the broadcast cameras and cricket fans.

While most fielders typically stroll back to their marks during the break between deliveries, Brook's decision to sprint across the field brought a sense of urgency and liveliness to the English setup. It was a brief but refreshing display of enthusiasm, reflecting his readiness and sharp mindset in the field.

Brook’s athletic movement was not just functional but also symbolic of England’s high-intensity approach under the Ben Stokes-Brendon McCullum leadership. The moment was quickly picked up on social media, where fans praised his energy and commitment to maintaining intensity even in the quieter phases of the game.
