England opener Ben Duckett may have had his heart on his mouth as he almost dropped his bat onto the stumps on day two of the fourth Test against India at the Old Trafford in Manchester. With Duckett playing one to the off side, he lost control of his bat but the willow escaped the stumps.

The incident occurred in the second over of the innings bowled by debutant Ankush Kamboj, who shared the new ball with Jasprit Bumrah. With the southpaw making room to play the cut shot, he couldn't quite connect it but instead dropped the bat behind but it narrowly escaped hitting the stumps.

Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley race away to 50-run stand after bowling Team India out for 358
Independent of the aforementioned incident, it has been chanceless knocks by both Duckett and Zak Crawley as they propelled the hosts to 77/0 in 14 overs at tea break. All three pacers in Jasprit Bumrah, Anshul Kamboj and Mohammed Siraj kept missing their lines consistently and the Englishmen took full toll of it, thereby winning the session comfortably.
Duckett has already smashed seven boundaries, while Crawley has accumulated five, leaving themselves 281 runs behind. The visiting side started the session at 321/6 and went on to manage 358 before being bowled out. Ben Stokes took his first fifer for the first time since September 2017, while Jofra Archer snared four. Rishabh Pant had attracted plenty of spotlight due to walking out to bat despite a swollen toe and scoring a useful 54.
Team India are currently 2-1 down in the five-Test series and must win in Manchester, a venue that they are yet to conquer.
