European Council President Antonio Costa notably gifted United States' President Donald Trump with a jersey of Cristiano Ronald as the former posed with the same. The moment occurred during Trump's time at the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Canada as Trump held up the signed jersey, in which was written. 'To President Donald J. Trump, playing for peace."

The message sent by Ronaldo was in context of the ongoing Israel-Iran war as the veteran has been announced as the "Best Middle East Player" in football. With the conflict between Israel and Iran being one of the major topics of the G7 summit, the Portuguese had written that message on the jersey. Ronaldo has been vocal about maintaining peace in the middle-east and had earlier expressed his views about Gaza too.

Ronaldo arguably is one of the most modern-day greats as far as Football is concerned. The Portuguese, who started playing football professionally in 2002, has represented the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Al-Nassr at the club level. Having first played for Portugal in 2003, the veteran has netted 138 goals.

Watch the below video as Trump said:

"Oh! I love that! Playing for peace."

Cristiano Ronaldo not part of Club World Cup

On the sporting side of things, Ronaldo is notably not part of the Club World Cup 2025 and began on June 15. With Ronaldo now plying his trade for Saudi Arabia in Al-Nassr, they could not have a great 2024-25 season, finishing third in the standings.

Four teams were eligible to play in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. However, three of those spots were reserved for AFC Champions League title holders in 2021, 2022 and 2023-24. The final position was reserved for the best-ranked eligible team in the AFC four-year standings.

The four teams qualifying from Asia for FIFA Club World Cup are:

Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia): Title-holders of the 2021 AFC Champions League.

Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan): Winners of the 2022 AFC Champions League.

Al Ain (UAE): Winners of the 2023-24 AFC Champions League.

Ulsan HD (South Korea): Best-ranked eligible team in the AFC four-year ranking.

Nevertheless, the 39-year-old propelled Portugal to Nations League victory last week, proving to their second title.
