Legendary spinner Anil Kumble has broken his silence on false cquotes that is being spread on social media questioning Virat Kohli's current form in Test cricket. An X (formerly Twitter) handle by the name of Jod Insane quoted Kumble on his handle which said, "I don't understand why nobody is questioning Virat Kohli. He has been a walking wicket in Tests for the past five years. It's time for him to pack his bags and settle in London forever."

While the post has spread like wild fire on social media, Anil Kumble himself has denied making such comments on Kohli. The former leg spinner took to his personal social media handle and played down the false information that is being circulated online.

Kumble in his post wrote, "It has come to my attention that some social media accounts are using my image and attributing fabricated quotes to me. I want to categorically deny any association with these accounts and their content."

"The statements being circulated are not my views and do not reflect my opinions in any way. I urge everyone to be vigilant and not believe everything they see on social media. Please verify the authenticity of any information before sharing it. My official social media channels are the only reliable source for my views and statements. "

Virat Kohli's struggle with form

Virat Kohli poor form with the bat continues in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy after being dimissed for 3 runs in India's first inningson Day 3 of the Gabba test.

Besides poor form, Virat achieved another low becoming the batsman with the second-lowest average in a calendar year (at least 9 innings) while batting in the top five in the first innings. He averages 13.22.

The right-handed batsman who only managed to score 93 runs in the home series against New Zealand kicked off the Australia tour with just for 5 runs in the first innings of the Perth Test match.

However he followed up with a century in the second innings and was expected to continue his form. But he managed scores of 7 and 11 in the second Test match in Adelaide as India lost by 10 wickets.
