The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken a strong stance against the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Annual General Meeting set to take place on July 24 in Dhaka. According to reports, the BCCI wants the venue to be shifted out of Dhaka and will boycott any resolution taken in the meeting if it's not moved.

The Asia Cup, scheduled to take place in September this year, remains in limbo despite India being the designated host as no official announcements regarding schedules or dates have been made. The geo-political tensions and the on-ground situation in Bangladesh have reportedly cited as factors behind the BCCI wanting a venue change.
A source told ANI that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi is trying to pressure the Indian officials into attending the meeting:
"Asia Cup can happen only if the meeting venue changes from Dhaka. ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi is trying to assert unnecessary pressure on India for the meeting. We requested him to change the venue, but have received no response. BCCI will boycott any resolution if Mohsin Naqvi goes ahead with the meeting in Dhaka."
Notably, Naqvi is the chairman of PCB and the President of the ACC.
Team India are the defending champions ahead of Asia Cup 2025
India, meanwhile, are the defending champions ahead of Asia Cup 2025. They had won the 50-over edition in 2023 by defeating Sri Lanka in the final by ten wickets.
The BCCI had also notably refused to send the men's team to Pakistan for the 2023 edition, with Sri Lanka hosting their games.
