Actor Jr NTR's cousin, actor-politician Nandamuri Taraka Ratna, passed away on February 18 at the age of 39 after suffering heart attack. He was admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru where he breathed his last.
RRR actor Jr NTR paid his last respects to Taraka Ratna ahead of his funeral in Hyderabad on Monday evening. He was joined by his brother and actor Kalyan Ram. In a video doing the rounds, Jr NTR looks visibly shaken by his cousin's demise.
Several photos and videos from Taraka Ratna's funeral have surfaced on social media.
The mortal remains of the actor and politician was brought to his residence in Rangareddy on Sunday morning. Relatives, friends, prominent Tollywood personalities and leaders of various political parties also arrived at the actor's house to pay their last respects.
The last rites will be performed at the Mahaprasthanam in Jubilee Hills on Monday evening.
Taraka Ratna's death
Taraka Ratna was admitted on January 27 after he collapsed during a padyatra of TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh in Kuppam town of Andhra Pradesh. He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Kuppam where he was given PCR. However, his heart had reportedly stopped functioning.
His condition deteriorated and he slipped into a coma last month.
Taraka Ratna is survived by his wife Alekhya Reddy and a daughter. He was the grandson of TDP founder, legendary actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Rama Rao.
Taraka Ratna made his film debut in 2002 with 'Okato Number Kurraadu'. He acted in about a dozen movies and web series. He was reportedly keen to contest next year's Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh on TDP ticket and had joined Lokesh on the first day of padyatra.
