Bollywood power couple Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh will be seen sharing screen space after ten years with the Marathi film ‘Ved’. While it marks Genelia’s comeback film, it is also Riteish’s directorial debut.
Sharing the posters on Twitter, Genelia wrote, in Marathi, “I was born in Maharashtra. After I started acting, I did films in different languages like Hindi-Tamil-Telugu. I got immense love from the audience there. I am making my Marathi film debut with Ritesh's first directorial venture. Working in Marathi, I feel like I have come full circle.”
She wrote on Instagram, “There is no time to do madness but what is the point in expressing the madness done on a moment! Presenting the date and the first look of the movie with best wishes for Diwali and Padwa. Our #वेड is coming to you on the 14th of December with your love and blessings.”
Riteish said, "I was nervous. Still a little nervous. Genelia and I have been working on Ved for a while now and were eagerly waiting to finally share it with everyone. And I think the auspicious Diwali padwa was the perfect time to reveal the first look. We have worked hard on this and hope everyone loves it too."
'Ved' is set to release on December 30, 2022.
Genelia and Riteish dated for almost a decade and finally tied the knot in 2012. The two are doting parents to sons -- Riaan and Rahyl.
The duo was last paired together in director Mandeep Kumar’s ‘Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya’ (2012).
Genelia is best known for her films 'Tujhe Meri Kasam', 'Bommarillu', 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' and 'Force'. It's been a long time since Genelia, the mother of two appeared on the big screen in a lead role. However, she was last seen in a cameo in a Marathi film called 'Mauli' and featured in the Hindi film ‘It’s My Life’ alongside Harman Baweja, which was released in 2020.
Meanwhile, Riteish has films like 'Kakuda', and 'Visfot' lined up.
The two will also be seen in ‘Mister Mummy’. The comedy-drama which is sure to tickle your ribs with punch lines galore and comic timing like no other, revolves around the story of a couple with opposing choices when it comes to children. But destiny has something else planned for the childhood sweethearts with a mad, ‘bumpy’ ride of comedy, drama, revelations, and realisations.
