In a recent development in the Pune Porsche accident case, Sassoon General Hospital suspended two doctors and one staffer on Wednesday, as per reports.

Both doctors, Dr. Ajay Taware and Dr. Shrihari Halnor, along with a hospital staffer, were arrested on Monday.

The arrested doctors were charged with manipulation of blood samples by Pune police.

The trio of Dr. Ajay Tawar, head of the forensics department at Sassoon General Hospital, Dr. Srihari Halnor, casualty medical officer, and Atun Ghatkamble, assistant at the hospital's morgue, are accused of swapping the blood sample of the 17-year-old main accused of the Porsche crash that took two lives.

According to reports, the suspension comes after Pune police in a letter to Department of Medical Education recommended the suspension of all three accused of swaping blood samples.

According to reports, the father of a juvenile involved in a fatal car accident allegedly offered a doctor Rs 3 lakh to swap blood samples. The police have recovered a total of Rs 3 lakh in the case, with Rs 2.5 lakh found with Dr. Halnor and Rs 50,000 found with Ghatkamble.

Vishal Agarwal Called Dr Ajay Taware 14 Times In 2 Hours

Vishal Agarwal, a prominent builder in Pune and the father of the juvenile involved in the accident, reportedly called Dr. Ajay Taware, the head of the state-run Sassoon General Hospital's forensic medicine department, 14 times on WhatsApp within two hours, according to the police. The calls were made on WhatsApp to ensure that there were no phone records.

The police have stated that it was Dr. Taware's idea to change the blood samples, and they are currently trying to identify whose blood samples were used to replace the juvenile's samples.

Dr. Tawar's controversial career

Dr. Taware's past is also controversial. He was removed twice from his position as medical superintendent: once for his alleged involvement in a kidney transplant racket involving the Ruby Hall Clinic in 2022, and another time in April this year due to a rat bite incident in the hospital.

After his arrest, Dr. Taware reportedly issued a stern warning, vowing to "expose everyone" involved and "not sit quietly."
