Just days after suspending the license of the well-known Goodluck Café, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has taken stern action against another prominent eatery. The license of Hotel Bhiwandi Darbar, located in Pune’s Camp area, has been temporarily revoked following a serious hygiene violation.

On June 16, a customer lodged a complaint after allegedly discovering a cockroach in the soup served at the restaurant. Responding to the complaint, the FDA conducted an inspection of the establishment, which revealed multiple violations of cleanliness and food safety regulations.

As a result, authorities decided to suspend the restaurant’s license until further notice, reported ABP Majha.

This incident has once again raised concerns about food safety and hygiene standards in Pune’s hospitality sector.

The FDA has temporarily suspended the licence of Goodluck Cafe in Pune after a glass shard was found in its signature dish - the bun maska

"An inspection was conducted, during which some unhygienic conditions were found. We have suspended the eatery's licence until further orders and necessary compliance," FDA Joint Commissioner Suresh Annapure said.

He added that the FDA inspected the food joint after taking cognisance of reports about a glass shard found in a food item.

The incident came to light after a couple claimed to have discovered a glass shard in the bun muska they had ordered at the cafe. The couple recorded a video of the episode and shared it on social media.

Speaking to local media, customer Akash Jalagi said he had reported the matter to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). "When my wife took a bite, she felt a hard and transparent substance in her mouth. Initially, we thought it was ice, but upon checking, we realised it was glass," he added.
