Heavy rains have once again wreaked havoc in Nashik's Igatpuri taluka, causing huge losses to farmers in the Phanaswadi area. Due to this unseasonal rain, maize and vegetable crops that were about to be harvested have been severely damaged.

The crops in the five acres of the farm of farmer Shailesh Sopanar from Phanaswadi have been submerged due to this rain. Maize and various types of vegetables were cultivated on this farm with great difficulty. However, the entire crop has been destroyed due to the sudden rain, and it is estimated that the loss is worth lakhs of rupees.

Due to waterlogging in the field, the remaining crop is also on the verge of rotting. There is strong displeasure among the farmers as no one has come to conduct a panchnama, even though the farmers informed the agriculture department on time.

Sopanar has demanded that the government immediately conduct a panchnama and compensate for the loss. Otherwise, he has also warned of a protest.

A similar situation has arisen in many parts of Igatpuri taluka, causing concern and unrest among farmers. The government and administration need to take serious note of this and take immediate measures; otherwise, the farmers' anger is likely to flare up in the coming days.
