The work of the animal husbandry department will be facilitated, and the schemes will be implemented effectively in the state to strengthen the economic situation of the farmers, said Environment, Atmospheric Change, and Animal Husbandry Minister Pankaja Munde. She was speaking during the review meeting of the Animal Husbandry and Pollution Control Board of the Marathwada region at the district collectorate on Saturday. Animal Husbandry Commissioner Praveenkumar Deore, Additional District Collector Arvind Lokhande, Private Secretary Mandar Vaidya, Resident District Collector Vinod Khirolkar, Joint Commissioner Ganesh Deshpande, Rajkumar Padile, Dr. Prashant Chaudhary, and other officers were present.

Munde further said that special efforts will be made to create a good ecosystem in the region through people's participation and government machinery. "A complete review of the work being done in Marathwada will be undertaken, and accordingly, a policy will be formulated. The 21st animal census is being conducted, and the central and state government's schemes are being run effectively. The meeting discussed animal disease control programs, including vaccination drives, census, service centers, integrated surveys, dairy development projects, financial assistance, milk collection networks, fodder generation, and other issues," She said.

More animal clinics to come

"The contribution of each will be very important to implement the animal husbandry schemes effectively in the region. The state has done exemplary work in this sector, which has set an example for other states, and they are following this pattern. She directed the officers to submit proposals for recruitment and animal clinics to the department immediately," she added.

The ministry will encourage people to participate in environmental-related works initiated by the Pollution Control Board. Major efforts are being taken in the field of implementing policies for the near future, including solid waste management, water-air pollution, river-lake pollution preservation, and creating awareness about the preservation of the environment among the people, Munde added.

PCB Regional Officer Manish Holkar, Deputy Regional Officer Acchuyut Nandwate, Senior Scientist Shantilal Nagare, and other officers were present.
