In a major development in the Lalit Patil drug case, Pune Police arrested Vinay Aranha, the director of Rosary Education Group, following the court's approval of their request for custody from the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Vinay Aranha had been previously apprehended by the ED and was being held at Taloja jail. He received brief medical treatment at Sassoon Hospital. Subsequent inquiries exposed his involvement in assisting Lalit Patil's escape during his treatment at the Sassoon Hospital, prompting the Pune Police to seek custody.
