Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Three persons were seriously injured after a car overturned following a tyre burst on the Dhule–Solapur Highway in Paithan taluka on Tuesday afternoon. The accident occurred at around 4 pm near Murma Village.
According to police, the injured have been identified as Omkar Sanap and his two friends, who were travelling from Beed to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for personal work. Sanap was driving the car (MH14 FX 1825) when the accident took place.
Officials said the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle after one of the tyres burst. The car veered off the highway and went nearly 200 metres into a nearby farm close to the Boreshwar Temple at Murma Phata. Due to the impact and speed, the vehicle overturned and landed upside down.
The accident was severe, and the car was badly damaged. Locals from nearby areas rushed to the spot immediately after hearing the crash. They helped pull the injured passengers out of the wrecked vehicle and informed emergency services.
All three injured were first taken by ambulance to the rural hospital in Pachod for initial treatment. Considering the seriousness of their injuries, they were later shifted to the Government Medical College and Hospital for further care.
Doctors said that the condition of the driver, Omkar Sanap, is critical, while the other two are also undergoing treatment for serious injuries.
A case has been registered at Pachod Police Station, and further investigation is underway to determine the exact sequence of events. Police suspect that the tyre burst led to the loss of control, resulting in the accident.
