Beed: In a heartbreaking incident that has sent shockwaves through the region, a nine-year-old girl died after accidentally getting entangled in a swing at her home in Majalgaon on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Vrinda Sameer Rudrawar.

According to sources, Vrinda, the daughter of local businessman Sameer Rudrawar, was playing on the upper floor of their house near the Khandoba Maidan area in Majalgaon town. Due to the Mahavir Jayanti holiday, she was playing with her younger sister.

She was standing on a chair to reach the swing when the chair suddenly slipped from under her. In the ensuing fall, the rope of the swing tightly coiled around her neck, leading to accidental strangulation. She reportedly died on the spot.

The tragedy came to light when Vrinda failed to come downstairs for lunch. Her mother went to the upper floor to check on her and discovered her daughter suspended by the rope. Her cries for help brought her husband and grandparents rushing to the scene.

Though she was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, doctors declared her “brought dead” upon arrival.

Vrinda was a Class 2 student at Eaglewood School. The sudden and tragic nature of her death has cast a pall of gloom over Majalgaon, with local residents expressing deep grief.

This unfortunate event serves as a grim reminder for parents to exercise extreme caution regarding indoor swings and ropes. Experts suggest that children should always be supervised while playing on swings and that such equipment should be installed with safety mechanisms to prevent accidental entanglement.
