Palghar, Maharashtra: A 33-year-old medical shop owner from Nalasopara West sustained serious injuries after he was attacked with a knife while protecting a female employee from a man who was allegedly harassing her. The incident occurred around 4:55 pm on July 21.
The victim, Vishal Eknath Aware, owns a medical store where the female employee, Mamta Ghadi, works. According to the police, Mamta had previously informed her employer that the accused, identified as Sahil Sheikh of Purvawadi Apartment, had been stalking and harassing her due to one-sided affection.
On the day of the incident, Sheikh allegedly stormed into the medical store, hurled vulgar abuses at Ghari, and threatened her. Eyewitnesses reported that he shouted, “I went to your house; now where will you go? Wait, I’ll show you.” He then pulled out a knife from his pocket and charged towards Ghadi.

Aware intervened to protect his staff, and in the scuffle, Sheikh slashed Aware’s left cheek and forearm, causing serious injuries. He continued threatening Aware, saying, “Because of you, she escaped today. I will kill you. If you have the courage, come outside.”
Nalasopara Police Station registered a case under sections 118(2), 351(3), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. As of now, the accused remains absconding, and efforts are underway to locate and arrest him.
