Thane, April 1: The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has achieved a landmark milestone by collecting a record ₹878.37 crore in property tax for the financial year 2025-26. This impressive figure represents 96% of the ₹915 crore target set by the administration, marking a significant growth of ₹68.37 crore compared to the previous fiscal year.
Digital payments drive collection
Mayor Sharmila Pimpolkar and Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao extended their gratitude to the citizens of Thane for their overwhelming response.
A notable highlight of this year’s collection is the shift toward modernisation, with 87.37% of taxpayers opting for digital and non-cash payment methods, aligning with the "Digital India" initiative.
Top contributing wards
The Majiwada-Manpada ward emerged as the highest contributor, accounting for ₹236.51 crore, followed by Vartak Nagar and Naupada-Kopri.

Payment Modes: 55.67% via cheque/DD and 31.68% through online portals.
