Thane: A fire broke out on Wednesday at a cloth processing unit located in the industrial belt of Maharashtra’s Thane district, officials confirmed. The blaze started around 12:30 pm at the MIDC area in Dombivli. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in the incident.

Five fire tenders from the local fire station and nearby areas, along with a team of emergency responders, were promptly dispatched to the site near the Manpada police station. Firefighting efforts are currently ongoing, as reported by news agency PTI. The flames and smoke from the factory were visible from a considerable distance, according to officials. The situation remains under control as teams continue to work to extinguish the fire.

In a separate incident in Navi Mumbai’s Kharghar area, a fire broke out at a Chinese fast-food outlet located opposite Kharghar Railway Station along the Sion-Panvel Highway in Sector 1. The CIDCO Fire Brigade from the Kharghar Fire Station quickly extinguished the blaze.

Fire officials reported that the fire started in the shop’s shawarma machine, likely caused by an LPG gas leak. The fire team responded promptly to the alert received at 8:28 AM, arriving within minutes. They managed to open the shop’s shutter, remove the burning LPG cylinder, and put out the fire.

Firefighters also controlled flames that had spread to other items inside the shop. Four LPG cylinders two full and two empty were safely taken out from the premises.

The fire was completely extinguished, and the situation was declared under control by 9:21 AM. The site was then handed over to the local police for further investigation. The operation was led by Station Officer Saurabh Patil, with Fire Officer Prashant Darekar, driver R. L. Banda, and firefighters Sambhaji Patil, Ganesh Bhoir, N. J. Madhvi, and B. V. Bhosale. No casualties were reported in the incident.
