Shraddha Mangle, one of the accused in IAS officer Radheshyam Mopalwar’s extortion case, has gone on hunger strike in Thane jail, where she is lodged since 2018.

Shraddha, a Marathi actor and her husband Satish Mangle, a private detective, are facing charges of extorting Mopalwar, along with then underworld don Ravi Pujari.

Special Judge AM Patil on Monday noted that it had received a letter from Thane Central Prison regarding the hunger strike.

Mangle’s lawyer Apeksha Vora did not comment on the development.

The advocate, however, informed that Shraddha has been on hunger strike since June 15 and that her health condition is worsening.
