School bags will be made lighter: Tawde

A committee set up for the purpose will submit its report in the 3rd week of June

Mumbai : Education Minister Vinod Tawde on Friday said that he is confident that the weight of the school bags will be reduced soon which will give relief to scores of students across the state.

Tawde was addressing to a gathering of students in Shiv Shikshan Sanstha, Sion on Friday. He said, “We had constituted a committee to make recommendation on how to reduce the weight of school bags. In the third week of June the committee is going to submit its report.”

He added, “Finding of this committee will be put in force so that students’ burden will be reduced.”

While talking about student-teacher relation, Tawde said that teachers should study the aptitude and abilities of individual students and recommend them technical course as per their abilities so these students will be a standing army of technical experts to meet our future technical requirement.

He reiterated that government is making all the possible changes in the education system to make it more skill oriented education system.
