Mumbai: This Independence Day, Mumbai Police presents a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of freedom through a soulful flute performance of the iconic patriotic melody, “Sandese Aate Hain…”
The moving rendition is performed by PSI Dadasaheb Tukaram Khule of the R.A. Kidwai Marg Police Station. His emotional interpretation of the song captures the deep sense of patriotism and sacrifice that defines India’s journey to freedom.

In another news story related to Independence Day, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) proudly celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with enthusiasm at its iconic headquarters. Marking the occasion, Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Bhushan Gagrani hoisted the national flag and conveyed warm wishes to the citizens of Mumbai.
The ceremony witnessed the participation of several senior officials, including Additional Municipal Commissioner (City) Dr. (Mrs.) Ashwini Joshi, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Eastern Suburbs), Dr. Amit Saini, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects), Abhijit Bangar, as well as Joint Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Directors, Assistant Commissioners, department heads, BMC officers, staff, and residents of Mumbai.
The celebrations began with Bhushan Gagrani offering floral tributes at the full-length statue of Sir Feroz Shah Mehta, situated in front of the BMC headquarters. He also paid respects to a painting of Vasudev Balkrishna Warlikar located in the Mayor's office. Additionally, Gagrani was honoured by the Mumbai Fire Brigade and the BMC’s Security Team during the ceremony.
