In yet another expose in the Cordelia cruise drugs bust case on Tuesday, NCP chief spokesman and Minority Affairs Minister Nawab Malik pointed to the involvement of the Russian drug mafia operating in Goa. “NCB zonal director Sameer Dawood Wankhede also has jurisdiction in Goa. People all over the world know that there is drug tourism in Goa.
The Russian mafia deals in drugs. However, no action is being taken in Goa as the drug racket runs through Fashion TV head Kashiff Khan, who is close to Wankhede. Khan is a member of Wankhede’s private army,” he alleged. He demanded answers from the NCB and Wankhede.
“Kashiff Khan is now being protected, as many cases were lodged against him. He has also been declared an ‘absconder’ by a court,” said Malik.
Continuing his tirade against Wankhede, Malik shared WhatsApp chats and purported audio and video clips between K P Gosavi (a witness in the cruise drugs bust case and currently jailed in Pune in connection with a 2018 case) and a Delhi-based informer in connection with the Cordelia cruise drugs bust case in which Kashiff Khan was mentioned.
Malik said a Delhi-based informer had sent some photos and details of a couple of persons, including Kashiff Khan, prior to the NCB raid on Cordelia Cruises on October 2.
“These pictures were sent to K P Gosavi and Wankhede. Kashiff Khan and others enjoyed the rave party aboard the ship, but they were not detained and instead, given ‘safe passage’.
Why was Kashiff Khan not detained or questioned or arrested? What is the reason for protecting him? The NCB and Wankhede will have to reply,” Malik said. He alleged that people had been identified and allegedly trapped in the case. Malik reiterated that the Cordelia cruise drugs bust was fake and it was a case of ransom.
In the WhatsApp chat, Gosavi was informing about Kashiff Khan and White Dubey operating from the UAE, Malik claimed. He declared he would be sharing more WhatsApp chats in future.
“K P Gosavi is asking him to send photos, including that of Kashiff Khan. Why was Kashiff Khan not identified in the same way that people were identified on the basis of photos? Why was he let off?” he asked.
Malik claimed that Khan was currently in Goa and wanted in many cases. Four days ago, a case of fraud was registered in Mumbai. “But why has Wankhede not summoned him for the probe? Their call detail records should be checked by the NCB,” he said.
