Amid raging controversy over the scam in the purchase of land for the Ram Temple premises in Ayodhya, the issue has created a face-off between Bharatiya Janata Party and other opposition leaders across the country. However the BJP has distanced itself from the issue.
Shiv Sena, one of the opposition parties against the BJP commenting on the issue has demanded clarification from the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust and other leaders amid charges of corruption being raised regarding the purchase of the land for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.
But it seems that the BJP got triggered with the party's reaction and so Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) workers protested outside Shiv Sena Bhavan, in Dadar, today over allegations of land scam regarding Ram Temple construction.
A scuffle broke out between Shiv Sena and BJYM workers during the protest. The police after intervening in the protest detained at least 40 BJYM workers.
On Monday, Sena MP Sanjay Raut said, “Lord Ram and the fight for the Ram Mandir is a matter of faith for us. For some, it is a political matter. The Trust formed for the construction of the temple should clarify if the allegations are true or false."
“The temple's 'bhoomipujan' ceremony was also attended by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. They should also speak out. Ram temple is a matter of faith. People have made donations out of faith. Even Shiv Sena had contributed Rs 1 crore to the Trust,” he further added.
Besides, the party also in it's mouth piece 'Saamana' on Tuesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will have to intervene to set the records straight regarding the controversy.
’The construction of Ram Mandir is an act of national pride. If anyone is deliberately defaming this work, action must be taken against them. The temple is being built through the sacrifices and struggles of many. If there will be a blot on the construction of Ram Mandir, then the intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is unavoidable,’’ said Shiv Sena.
