Railway Police Bust Sansi Gang, Recover ₹3.93 Lakh Gold Stolen From Passengers On Veraval-Pune & Ahmedabad-Kolhapur Trains

In a major success, joint teams of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) have solved two high-value theft cases involving passenger belongings, reinforcing public confidence in railway security.

Gold Worth ₹3.93 Lakh Stolen from Passengers on Key Routes

The cases relate to the theft of approximately 11 tolas of gold ornaments worth around Rs 3,93,000/- from passengers travelling on Train No. 11087 (Veraval–Pune) and Train No. 11049 (Ahmedabad–Kolhapur).

Upon receiving the complaints, a dedicated joint task force was formed. Preliminary investigation identified members of the notorious Sansi gang as prime suspects. The team conducted a detailed analysis of CCTV footage from Pune, Shivajinagar, Lonavala, and Miraj railway stations, which confirmed the gang’s involvement.

Stolen Property Fully Recovered, All Accused Apprehended

Through coordinated and persistent efforts, the joint team successfully recovered the entire stolen property and apprehended all accused persons. This operation was executed with precision under the able guidance of IG/RPF, SrDSC/Pune, and SP Railways Pune.

RPF Appeals to Passengers for Vigilance

The RPF has appealed to passengers to remain vigilant and keep valuables, particularly gold ornaments, under close watch during their journey. Passenger alertness plays a crucial role in preventing such incidents and ensuring safe travel.
