Raigad district has achieved over 100% target completion under key government employment generation schemes, including the Chief Minister Employment Generation Programme (CMEGP), Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), and the Seed Capital Loan Scheme, aimed at supporting educated unemployed youth in starting their own businesses.
Under the CMEGP for the year 2025–26, a total physical target of 960 units was set—576 for the District Industries Centre (DIC), Raigad–Alibag, and 384 for the Khadi and Village Industries Board. Accordingly, 2,427 proposals were forwarded to various bank branches across the district. Out of these, 965 proposals have been approved by banks, exceeding the set target and achieving more than 100% completion for the year.
Officials stated the District Industries Centre carried out meticulous planning, resulting in achieving 100% targets under the CMEGP for the second consecutive year.
Similarly, under the centrally sponsored PMEGP, a total target of 34 proposals was set—14 each for the District Industries Centre and the Khadi and Village Industries Board, and 6 for the Khadi and Village Industries Commission. Against this, 146 proposals were forwarded to banks, of which 70 have been approved, again surpassing the target.

Additionally, the Seed Capital Loan Scheme implemented by the District Industries Centre, Raigad, has also achieved 100% of its targets.
The success of these schemes has been attributed to the coordinated efforts and guidance of Development Commissioner (Industries) Deependra Singh Kushwah, District Collector Kishan Jawale, Joint Director of Industries (Konkan Division) Mrs. Viju Sirsath, Lead Bank District Manager Vijaykumar Kulkarni, along with bank officials, regional officers, and district-level coordinators, as informed by District Industries Centre General Manager G.S. Haralayya.
