Palghar, Maharashtra: A domestic quarrel took a dramatic turn on Tuesday afternoon when a man, allegedly upset with his wife, climbed a water tank opposite the Achole police station and threatened to jump, sparking panic among locals and drawing a swift emergency response.

The incident occurred around 3 p.m. when Suresh Sainik, a resident of Achole Dongri, scaled the tank following a heated argument at home. From the top, he began threatening to end his life, alarming bystanders and prompting immediate action from the police.

Achole police quickly alerted the fire brigade and began efforts to de-escalate the situation. Officers, along with Sainik’s relatives, spent nearly an hour pleading him to come down. Despite their repeated appeals, Sainik remained unresponsive for a considerable time.

Eventually, after about an hour of high tension, he descended voluntarily. The incident attracted a large crowd of curious onlookers but ended without injuries. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether any legal action will be taken.
