Palghar, Maharashtra: A daring attempt to rob a jewelry shop in Palghar district turned chaotic on Thursday evening when two armed men, who had planned to target Mamta Jewellers, were forced to flee after drawing the attention of local residents.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 pm near Mamta Jewellers near Kelwa Road area, when the suspects arrived at the jewelry store and began acting suspiciously. Their behavior caught the eye of passers-by, prompting a growing crowd to gather near the shop. Fearing they had been spotted, the robbers opened fire into the air in an attempt to disperse the crowd before quickly making their escape.

Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident. The authorities were immediately alerted, and the Safale police station launched an investigation into the failed robbery attempt.

Police teams have been deployed throughout the area to search for any evidence that could lead to the identification and arrest of the culprits. Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity and interviewing witnesses who were present during the attempted robbery.

Authorities remain vigilant as they continue their efforts to apprehend the culprits, who managed to flee before law enforcement could respond.
