Now dial 1916 for ambulance

MUMBAI : Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to change its disaster control room number from 108 to 1916.

“In order to create public awareness the BMC will soon be advertising the new number”, Mahesh Narvekar, Chief Officer of Disaster Management said. The old number i.e. 108 has already been given to emergency ambulance services. The new number is already been used for registering civic complaints. Whereas, for past six year, 108 number was used for registering building collapse, fire break and other emergency a disaster complaints.
