Mumbai : Once again, it was action replay when a Metro train came to an abrupt halt at Saki Naka station on Sunday. The pilot of the train brought the train to a halt as the tracks were engulfed with smoke, but after some time he realised there was nothing wrong and resumed the journey.
The pilot bought the Ghatkopar-bound train to an abrupt halt after it left Sakinaka. The pilot then contacted the control room which then cleared that there was nothing wrong with the tracks but the smoke was rising from the head of garbage burnt at the road level beneath the bridge.
A similar incident had happened at Asalpha station on October 12 when the train was stopped after the pilot though that via duct on the tracks had caught fire. A spokesperson from Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL) said, “Today (Sunday) at 12:16 pm near Saki Naka station Metro Pilot spotted heavy smoke coming from below the viaduct. The train services were resumed within 4 minutes 16 seconds. No damage to metro system reported.”
