Navi Mumbai: Two additional days to submit objections and suggestions on ward-wise draft voter lists

As per the civic body, out of the total 9,08,433 voters, 62,909 voters have been excluded due to various reasons

The deadline for filing objections and suggestions on ward-wise draft voter lists published for general elections of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has been extended till July 3, 2022, from July 1, 2022. Citizens can submit objections and suggestions at the Municipal Corporation`s office or through the True Voter mobile app.

However, applicants will have to attach address proof while submitting the application. The applications without address proof will not be accepted.

As per the civic body, out of the total 9,08,433 voters, 62,909 voters have been excluded due to various reasons.

Municipal commissioner Abhijit Bangar said that the State Election Commission has revised the schedule on June 29 and now the last date for submitting objections and suggestions on the ward-wise draft voter list is July 3 instead of July 1.

As per the draft voter lists, the total number of voters is 908433 out of which 62909 voters have been excluded due to various reasons. The total number of voters is now 8,45,524 out of which 4,69,524 are male voters and 3,75,944 are female voters and 56 other voters are considered.

The civic chief clarified that the civic body can rectify the draft voter list in 3 categories. In case, the name is present in assembly constituency voter lists and not present in the civic body’s list, the civic body will rectify it. Similarly, if there is any clerical mistake, the civic body will correct them. And, in case voters' names appear in another ward, the civic body will rectify them. The voter lists will be finalised by July 9.
