Navi Mumbai: Residents of Kharghar expressed happiness after BEST decided to run an air-conditioned midi bus service between T2 airport to Kharghar. The introduction of bus services will not only save money but also time.

The AC midi bus will operate throughout the week at 90 minutes frequency. Earlier, Panvel Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) former Mayor Kavita Choutmal had written to BEST and BMC to extend the AC bus that runs between the T2 airport and Vashi.

The BEST is already running an air-conditioned bus service between the Vashi bus depot and the T1 and T2 terminals of Mumbai airport.

Brijesh Patel, President of BJP Kharghar said that the former mayor had already requested the BEST to start the bus service for Kharghar.

The BEST's AC bus service from Vashi Depot to Airport is a 24 hours service, and the frequency is one hour from both ends. The bus goes to both terminals T1 and T2 takes around 1 hour and 15 mins. While there is no additional charge for luggage, the fare is just Rs 150.

On the contrary, if anyone goes by cab, the charges vary from Rs 600 to Rs 1000. “It will be a great help for residents of Kharghar including Belapur, Nerul, Juinagar and Turbhe en route,” said Patel.

The fare for the new bus service from the airport to Kharghar will be Rs 250.
