Navi Mumbai: The Panvel Regional Transport Office (RTO) will be relocated to Kharghar in the coming days. The announcement was made on Thursday. The current office, located in the Iron and Steel Market building in Kalamboli, will now be moved to the eight blocks of Valley Crafts Society in Sector 36, Kharghar.
The RTO has been operating in the shared building of the Iron and Steel Market Committee in Kalamboli for the past 14 years, according to reports by Mumbai live. However, the Iron and Steel Market Committee building was recently declared dangerous by the Panvel Municipal Corporation.
Since the RTO has been functioning from the 14-year-old building, the government has decided to relocate it to a new place for the betterment and safety of its employees. In response to the RTO's request, the CIDCO board has agreed to offer leased space in a building located in the Valley Shilp Co-Housing Society in Sector 36, Kharghar.
As a result, the relocation of the RTO office is expected to begin in the second week of April. The RTO will take possession of the new units after submitting a check for the rental payment to the CIDCO board between Monday and Tuesday next week, and then signing a rental agreement with CIDCO.
Panvel RTO To Start New Series
The Panvel Regional Transport Office (RTO) will soon launch a new series, MH46 CK, for the registration of private four-wheeler vehicles. Citizens interested in obtaining a special or unique registration number from this series can approach the RTO.
According to RTO Panvel officials, citizens can visit the RTO on working days between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm to reserve either attractive or regular registration numbers from this series.
