Vashi police arrested a 31-year-old man for allegedly sexually harassing a 32-year-old his aunt for the past six months.
Police said that the accused (name withheld on request) had visited his aunt's house in December and then he had sexually assaulted and threatened dire consequences of her children if she revealed it.
A senior police official from Vashi police station said, “The accused repeated the crime by threatening her aunt."
Exasperated, the woman tried to commit suicide by consuming phenol last week. Later, she narrated everything to her brother, who took her to the police station and registered an FIR against the accused.

"Following a complaint registered by the victim, we arrested the accused within a few hours,” the official said.
The police booked the accused under section 376 Indian Penal Code (IPC). He was produced before the judicial court and has been remanded to police custody.
