Navi Mumbai: A case has been filed against a driver who endangered tourist's lives by driving a Ferrari car on the beach at Revdanda. The case was filed after Raigad police took suo motu cognizance of the offence after the video of Ferrari being stuck in the sand and then being towed out by a bullock cart, went viral.
On December 28, 2024, between 8 pm and 8.30 pm, the driver of the Ferrari with registration number MH 02 FB 0009 allegedly drove the vehicle recklessly on the beach, causing it to get stuck in the sand. With the help of locals, the vehicle was pulled out using a bullock cart.
However, no one reported the incident at the police station. The Revdanda police reviewed CCTV footage from various locations in Revdanda city and identified the Ferrari's owner as Abhishek Jugalkishore Tapadiya from Sambhajinagar.
The Ferrari owner, Tapadiya, allegedly took the vehicle onto the Revdanda beach and drove recklessly, endangering his own life as well as the lives of other tourists.
"A case has been filed against him under Sections 125 and 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act at the Revdanda police station (Case No. 174/2024)," Raigad superintendent of police Somnath Gharge said.
Gharge further urged public that no one should take their vehicles onto the beach. "Entering of vehicles into the beaches is restricted and anyone found taking the vehicle inside, would be booked. We want the local to be alert and should inform us about the same when they find any vehicle in the beach," Gharge said.
