The Navi Mumbai unit of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested a 57-year-old Board Official from Jasai in Uran Tehsil for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe for not taking action against a container yard in Uran. The official had made a demand of Rs 25,000 and accepted Rs 20,000 in bribes.

The arrested state government official was identified as Sandip Ramakant Rode and a case has been registered against him at Kharghar police station.

According to an official from ACB, Rode had demanded Rs 25,000 from the complainant for not taking action against the MT Container Yard in Uran on June 27. The same day, the complainant approached the Navi Mumbai unit of ACB and registered a complaint against the official.
