Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh): A-16-year old girl who was allegedly raped helped the police to arrest the accused, said Kolar police on Sunday. Kolar police said the girl was raped by a painter. The accused Sanju Shakya, resident of Damkhera, had visited girl’s locality for painting work few days back.

He came to know that girl’s parents were labourers who leave her alone at home and go to work.

Taking advantage of timing, the accused reached the house of victim on Saturday and asked for help. The girl innocently opened the door. As soon as the accused entered the house, he grabbed the girl and raped her forcefully.

After committing the act, the rapist calmed down and the girl behaved normally. “All of sudden, she came out of the house and locked the door from outside and raised alarm. The neighbours gathered there and called the police. The police then arrested the accused,” police said.

The police registered the case under Section 376 of IPC and POCSO Act and arrested the accused. The accused was produced in court and sent to jail.
