With the revival of monsoon activity, Mumbai and it's metropolitan regions have been witnessing moderate to heavy rainfall since two days and dip in the mercury. The weather conditions will continue to prevail as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has continued its issued Yellow Alert for Mumbai and Thane for June 16. While, residents of Palghar and Raigad need to be more alert as Orange and Red Alert is issued for the districts, respectively.
IMD Mumbai Director Shubhangi Bhute said, "The rainfall active will continue on the coastal regions. Mumbai is expected recieve moderate to heavy rainfall at isolated locations for next two days and after that light rains might continue. While for Raigad, Red Alert is issued and the district will receive heavy downpour for two days. The rainfall activity will decrease over the region after couple of days."
Although the rains have brought down the temperature of the city, the humidity levels are high. "The humidity levels will be above 80-90% and can cross 100% as well. However, it is not felt because of rains," Bhute added.
On Sunday, Mumbai's Colaba observatory recorded maximum and minimum temperatures at 32°C and 24.4°C. While Santacruz observatory recorded, a maximum and minimum temperatures at 33.5°C and 26.4°C. As per local weather forecast, for the next 48 hours, the maximum temperature is expected to drop and skies will be generally cloudy with possibility of heavy rainfall at few places in city and suburbs.
Mumbai has been under Yellow Alert since two days and received moderate rainfall. In the last 24 hours, the some of the areas which comparatively high rainfall included: A ward - Fort (109 mm), CSMT (106 mm), C ward (93 mm), Malabar Hill (70 mm), Grant Road (58 mm), Haji Ali (42 mm), Bandra (45 mm), Versova (40 mm), Madh (46 mm), Kandivali (46 mm), Powai (28 mm) among others. The city recieved more rainfall than the suburbs.
The IMD on Sunday issued warning for fairly widespread heavy rainfall across the state from June 15 to 18.

As of Sunday morning, the total usable water level across seven reservoirs supply water to Mumbai has reached 8.90%.
