Mumbai: The city woke up to sunny skies and a cool breeze on Thursday morning, while the morning temperature settled at around 26°C. The city's Air Quality Index (AQI) has seen a massive improvement since the past few days, and today, too, it continued to be in the 'good' category, standing at 35 at 9 am. This improved air quality marked a major relief for residents who have been dealing with poor air quality in recent weeks.

The temperature at 9 am was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius, with the maximum temperature expected to reach 34 degrees Celsius today, according to Google Weather.
Overall AQI In 'Good' Range
Data from AQI monitoring platforms showed the city's overall Air Quality Index (AQI) at 35 at 9 am, placing it in the 'good' category. Among key locations, Kandivali East recorded an AQI of 35, Mulund West at 28, Bhandup recorded AQI of 30, Chandivali (25), Bandra East (27), BKC (23), Borivali East (32), Colaba (23), Kannamwar Nagar (27), Kurla (25), Mahim (25), Vile Parle West (23), all within the good range.

Not just Mumbai, Thane recorded an overall AQI of 35, while Navi Mumbai reported an AQI of 58. However, Mirashi Nagar in Kanjurmarg and Yashodham in Goregaon in East witnessed severe air quality with an AQI of 333 and 323, respectively.
Rainfall Prediction in Mumbai, Thane & Palghar
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre in Mumbai, a yellow alert has been issued in Thane and predicted thunderstorm accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall & gusty winds (30- 40kmph) at isolated places on April 2.
The weather department has predicted light rain along with thundershowers in Mumbai and Palghar on April 2. The rainfall prediction comes at a time when large parts of Maharashtra have been placed on alert for lightning, gusty winds, rainfall and even hailstorms over the next few days.
