Mumbai: A mini bus carrying BMC employees caught fire near Panch Khadda, Kanjur Gaon on the Eastern Express Highway (EEH) in Kanjurmarg East on Friday morning. The driver and three staff members safely evacuated before the flames spread. No injuries were reported, though traffic was temporarily disrupted.
According to civic officials, a mini bus carrying BMC staff caught fire at 7:15 am while traveling from Bhandup Pumping Station to Bhandup Station. The driver and three staff evacuated safely before flames spread. Mumbai Fire Brigade and local police quickly contained the blaze by 7:49 am. No injuries were reported. The fire’s cause whether electrical, mechanical, or otherwise remains under investigation. The incident briefly disrupted traffic, which resumed normal flow once the bus was cleared.
