A tragic road accident took place in Kurla on Monday, where a speeding truck crushed a biker to death. The victim, Jiaullah Inayathussain (62), succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The Kurla Police have detained the truck driver, identified as Anil Kumar T. Thomas (57), and are investigating the matter.
According to Kurla Police, the accident occurred at 12 PM on Monday. The complainant, Zikarullah Shafiullah Siddiqui (35), was riding his bike from Santacruz to Chembur with his uncle, Inayathussain, as a pillion rider.
As they attempted to maneuver through traffic in Kurla, Inayathussain lost his balance and fell onto the road. A speeding truck approaching from behind ran over his abdomen and lower body, leading to instant death. The police have taken the truck driver into custody, and further investigation is underway.
