According to Sumit Thakur, chief public relations officer, of Western Railway, currently four Vande Bharat trains ply in Western Railway. They are Mumbai–Gandhinagar Capital, Ahmedabad–Jamnagar, Ahmedabad (Sabarmati)–Jodhpur and Indore–Bhopal–Nagpur.
The Vande Bharat trains have redefined rail travel and have become an instant hit amongst the passengers. They have appreciated the comfort level of the Vande Bharat trains, the plush interiors, the variety of delicious food served and the reduced travel time as compared to other trains. They have equated the journey by Vande Bharat trains as that of travelling by aircraft with less hassles of check-in and more economical pricing.

Thakur said that the Vande Bharat trains plying in Western Railway connects the very essence of our diverse and culturally rich country. Mumbai–Gandhinagar Capital Vande Bharat Express
Giving more details, Thakur further stated that Western Railway’s Mumbai–Gandhinagar Capital Vande Bharat Express was the third Vande Bharat Express in the country which was introduced on September 30, 2022. It connects the state capitals of Maharashtra and Gujarat, with halts at Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad, covering seven districts.
This train has been an instant hit amongst the passengers having an average occupancy of more than 130 per cent. This train is in great demand amongst all the age groups, especially with the age group of 31 to 45, which constitute more than 33 per cent of the passengers, followed by age group of 46 to 60, which is more than 25 per cent while age group of 15 to 30 comes close by 24 per cent. Senior citizens comprise around 14 per cent. Also, women passengers are showing their maximum preference to Vande Bharat trains due to the ease of travelling associated with the train.
Other Vande Bharat garner good response
Similarly, Ahmedabad–Jamnagar, Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) – Jodhpur and Indore–Nagpur Vande Bharat trains of Western Railway are also garnering good response from the youth, business travellers, tourists falling in the age group of 25 to 45.
