Mumbai: A three-year-old girl was allegedly sexually harassed in a kindergarten school. The minor referred to the perpetrator as a “monster”, but could not exactly tell who committed the abhorrent act. The Bangur Nagar police have registered an FIR against an unidentified individual under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

The crime, which apparently occurred on February 12, came to light after the minor complained of pain in her private parts. Her mother took her to a doctor, who said that the girl did not suffer any physical injuries. Hence, it was inconclusive whether she had an infection or had been inappropriately touched, the doctor added.

The mother raised the issue with the school, which clarified that it does not employ males. The institute also showed the CCTV footage to her, confirming that only female staff took students to the toilet. When the mother and teachers questioned the girl about whether any female staff had touched her inappropriately, the girl insisted that the person was a “monster”.

The police said that they will review the CCTV footage and record statements of the school staff.
