Kalyan, August 22, 2026: A Bullet motorcycle belonging to a police constable serving with the Mumbai Police was stolen in broad daylight from outside the Kalyan tehsildar’s office, raising questions over security arrangements in the area.
The complainant, Ashish Nighot, a resident of Kongaoan, is employed with the Mumbai Police. According to the complaint, Nighot had travelled to Kalyan for work and parked his Bullet motorcycle outside the Kalyan tehsildar’s office before proceeding to Mumbai.
After completing his work, Nighot returned to the spot and found that his motorcycle was missing. He subsequently approached the Mahatma Phule Police Station and lodged a complaint regarding the theft.
CCTV Footage Examined
Following the complaint, police examined CCTV footage from cameras installed in and around the area. The footage reportedly captured two suspicious persons in connection with the incident.
According to the CCTV footage, one of the suspects was seen riding another motorcycle, while the second suspect was allegedly seen riding away on Nighot’s stolen Bullet.
Police Launch Investigation
The Mahatma Phule police have registered a case of theft and launched an investigation. Police teams are examining the CCTV footage and other available technical evidence to identify the two suspects and trace the stolen motorcycle.

The incident, which occurred in front of a government office during the daytime, has also raised concerns over the security of parked vehicles in the vicinity. Police are now working to establish the identities of the suspects and recover the stolen Bullet.
