The first round of RTE admission was completed in Mumbai and more than 3500 students were allotted admission under the act. The Right To Education (RTE) quota, seats are allotted to students of economically weaker families into private unaided schools.
This year, a total of 11,584 applications had come for the first round of registration in Mumbai region. This was conducted between March 5 and 30. More than 3500 students were given admission in the first round and admission for the same will take place between April 11 and April 26. There are a total of 7,491 seats in 356 schools in Mumbai region.
Out of these, 2,789 students have been allotted schools belonging to Secondary School Certificate (SSC) board, while 743 have got admission in schools of other boards like Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE).The first round of lottery took place in Pune for schools across the states. Across the state, 67,706 students got selected across 1,16,799 seats in 9,195 schools.
