A woman who stays near Kurla railway station was looking for her 4-year-old daughter on 2nd April as she had gone out to play but didn’t come back, she searched around Kurla station and spotted a molester on the isolated areas of tracks near platform 9 and 10 as he was touching her daughter inappropriately.
She screamed and ran to catch him but he managed to run away. Two days later, on April 5, she caught him at the exit of Kurla railway station. Nehru Nagar Police has now arrested the accused, an officer from the police station told Mid-Day that, “She immediately raised an alarm and ran towards him. Hearing her cries, customers at the railway canteen caught the man.” The molester’s name is Sohanla Bangali a 45-year-old porter.
The woman stays near Kurla railway station along with her husband and 4-year-old daughter who was molested by the porter. “We are interrogating him to find whether he has molested any other girl before this. We have booked him under IPC section 376 (rape) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act,” said Vilas Shinde, senior inspector of Nehru Nagar police station to Mid-Day.
