A day after its inauguration, monorail services came to a halt at Wadala depot due to a technical glitch in a rake. According to reports, the problem was reported in Phase II (Jacob Circle–Wadala) of the monorail services.

Yesterday, Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal and state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the second phase of Mumbai monorail. The two ministers also travelled by the monorail till Wadala. The project is around 19 kilometres long and around 30 lakh travellers are expected to travel through this line per month. The entire project was scheduled to be completed in 2011 but after a delay of over eight years. The Monorail will operate daily from 6 am to 10 pm with a 22-minute gap between the two Mono trains and will also reduce the travel time from 90 to a mere 30 minutes.
