The Kandivali police reunited a three-year-old missing girl with her kin on Friday after she had wandered off alone. The child was found lurking a few kilometers away from the place she had gone missing. Medical tests of the toddler were conducted and she was safely returned to her parents.

According to the police, the three-year-old girl, who stayed with her parents in Laljipada, Kandivali (West), went missing on September 24 around 11am. When the girl was nowhere to be found, her family approached Kandivali police station around 4pm. A case of kidnapping was lodged.

The police immediately swung into action. All the nine police stations under Zone 11 of the Mumbai Police were alerted about the case. Special teams from the local detection staff, Nirbhaya Squad and Protection Squad were roped in to aggravate the search. The CCTV footage indicated that the girl had wandered off on her own.

Vishal Thakur, deputy commissioner of police (Zone 11) said, "We received the information at 4pm and the girl was traced within 5 hours. She was unharmed and had wandered off on her own."

Five hours later, the girl was found near Mith Chowki, Bangur Nagar, Malad (West). The girl underwent a medical check up. After proper verification, she was reunited with her kin.
