The Amboli police on Saturday arrested a 46-year-old man for allegedly raping a minor girl since the last 9 years, while his wife has also been arrested for allegedly aiding him. The incident came to light when the girl now 17-year-old went missing, while checking her belongings her father found multiple notes, in which she has narrated her ordeal and how their neighbour used to sexually exploit her since she was eight.
According to the officials, in April the Amboli police received a complaint of minor girl missing, since the girl was minor police registered a kidnapping case and began their investigations.
A month later the Amboli police managed to trace her. She was rescued from Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh and cops arrested her cousin brother and his father for allegedly kidnapping her. During investigation it was revealed that her cousin had established intimate relationship with her after which section 376 (2) (f) (n) along with the relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) act has been added, said officials.
When the police enquired about the notes, the girl said that, her neighbour used to rape her since she was eight years old and also said that on occasions his wife had also aided him. Sometimes she had been given sedatives and claimed her neighbour is responsible for her current mental and physical state, she said in her statement to the police.
After taking her statement we registered a separate offence under relevant sections of rape, unnatural sex, poisoning along with relevant sections of POCSO act and arrested the couple," said Someshwar Kamthe, senior inspector of Amboli police station.
